So I just realized that it's been a while since the blog was last updated.
Little Monkey is now 8 weeks old! He's getting the hang of sleeping through the night, giving me around 5 hours of sleep every other night... yay! He doesn't need as much help burping anymore... another yay! And this past weekend we spent our first night away from home. We went to Gilmer, TX to celebrate my brother-in-law's 27th birthday. We spent the night with them Saturday night and went to church, had lunch, and cake and ice cream with them on Sunday. We even got to borrow some toys from Alicia's wonderful in-laws... they're basically my second family. :)
Bill is still looking for a job. It's not easy finding something in his field, but we're hopeful. Right now he's looking for anything that will help to pay the bills, so if you hear of any positions opening where you're working or where your spouse works or where your friend works... or a friend of a friend.... i think you get the point. :) Just let us know please! Bill is applying for a position as an officer in the Air Force, but the process can take up to two years, so please keep us in your prayers!
I am starting to really get the hang of all this 'Mommy' stuff. I'm learning to distinguish between his different cries and really being able to tell what he needs. Everything is starting to become second nature... which is a real relief from what the first few weeks were like. We're starting to get more sleep, and learn some new things. This weekend Little Monkey discovered his hands and feet (who knew those pants with monkey footies would help him figure those out!), and he's starting to recognize people's faces. This past weekend he was exposed to so many different new people, but we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa's on the way home, and he was so happy to see them. It really is amazing to see this little spirit grow up and learn new things. We're so happy he was sent to us; he makes us so happy, and we love him so much.
If we go too long before another post just message either myself or Bill on Facebook, and we'll put something up. If you'd like to see pictures of the family (mainly Little Monkey) look us up on Facebook, and you'll be able to see plenty there.
Thanks to everyone for ALL the love and support we continue to receive. We pray for you every night and hope that everything is going well. Eventually we WILL have a social life again, so for those of you we haven't seen recently, we're still here! We just need a little more time before we become social butterflies again. :) Love to all!
