Work!

Once again, it's been a while since I last posted. Until recently we haven't had a whole lot to report. Anyways, here goes.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary on August 7. We ended up going out to Cici's for dinner the night before, which was where one of our first dates was at. Little Monkey slept through most of it...

The next morning, I surprised Bill with a homemade breakfast. I made some waffles, and sausage, with strawberries, bananas, peanut butter, whipped cream, and lotsa good stuff.

We wanted to go on a walk later that night, but we were so exhausted we skipped out on that. It was so nice though. We got a bottle of Martinelli's Sparkling Cider, and cut our wedding cake (which was still so delicious!), and we just had a good time.

I'm so glad we found each other. I love Bill so much, and he is such a wonderful father. I'm so glad we get to spend eternity together.

This past Tuesday, Bill had an interview with a high-end oil service company based in Houston. So, they flew him out there for his interview. After a long day of taking care of Little Monkey all by myself, I found out that he had lost his phone in a cab in Houston, but that he had gotten the job! He gave me the number of the hotel he was staying at, and we spent that night apart... the first time ever since we got married. It was so hard, but we made it through, and he drove home in a company car the next day. We're so grateful he got a position with this company, and it looks like they're going to take really good care of all of us.

For the next six months or so, Bill will be training with this company, which means that he will be going pretty much wherever they tell him to for 4-5 days at a time, and coming home on the weekends. After six months, they are going to evaluate his progress in the company and decide where to put him, hopefully a little more permanently. In the meantime, our lease ends at the end of October, and for the past two days we've been apartment hunting. We found a couple of apartments that we like, one here in Denton and another in Lewisville, but we've still got 6 more complexes to look at. It's so tiring!

Little Monkey is getting so big!

He had his 2-month vaccinations last month, which he did not like at all. Last month at his doctor's appointment he weighed in at 13 lbs. 10 oz., and he's probably gained another pound or two in the meantime. He's already in size 3-6 m, and we're bumping him up to a size 3 diaper pretty soon here. He loves to "talk", and he can say mama, but only when he's crying. He loves his Daddy so much, and loves to play with him. He gets the biggest smiles on his face, and loves to laugh. He's very ticklish, just like Daddy, which makes things very fun when it comes to playtime. He's starting to try and scoot across his blanket during tummy time, and can hold his head up all by himself. He's even starting to try and sit up by himself. He loves being read to, so we've gotten some books from the library, and we try to read to him as much as we can.

Little Monkey may be ready for something besides breastmilk in a few months or so, which is a little earlier than we expected. All I know is that he keeps staring at whatever food we eat, and looks at it curiously every time. He doesn't quite have the motor control needed to take the food away just yet, but he's getting there. He likes to take any toys put near him and put them in his mouth, so his motor control is getting much better.

We'll keep everyone posted on where we'll be moving, and I'll try to continue to keep up with this. Ta-ta until next time!
